The demonstration “Reja Brasil”, organized by the right of Acre on Sunday (7), in Gameleira, was attended by Michele Lacerda, one of the people arrested after the acts of January 8, 2023. She presented herself as a “political prey” and stated that her participation symbolizes the struggle for freedom and justice.

In an interview with Contilnet, Michele stated that the movement represents resistance against what it considers persecution. “It is a moment that we scream for freedom. I am one of the political prey victims here of January 8 in our state. And there are many people still unfairly prey. Especially our leader, who has been arrested before being judged. We are here for them, we are their voice, we are the voice of millions of people,” he said.

She stated that the mobilization also seeks to support family members of others involved. “We are here to support the family so that they are not alone and show that the united people will never be overcome. We will not let communism take over our state or our Brazil,” he said.

Asked about the judgment of the defendants of January 8, Michele said he did not believe in the current justice system. “We know that there is no proof, we know that it is a totally unfair judgment. Yes, we hope that our politicians who are acting there in the Senate, in the House, together with the people, can win this battle,” he said.

For her, the struggle transcends the already convicted prisoners. “Just as today they are, just as we were us, it can be anyone. So, either we fight now, or unfortunately in a while we will be like Venezuela, just like Cuba,” he said, adding that he will remain present on the streets.

The act, which took place on the holiday of September 7, brought together supporters of conservative guidelines and former President Jair Bolsonaro, in defense of freedom of expression and against what participants classify as political persecution.
