Trump’s proposal for a ceasefire

Israeli news television N12 informed about the new Trump’s proposal for a ceasefire on Saturday. According to him, Hamas would release all the remaining 48 hostages on the first day of the ceasefire in exchange for thousands of Palestinians held in prison, including convicted killers.

An unnamed Israeli representative said that the Jewish state of Trump’s proposal was “seriously considering”, but did not state the details.

Hamas, in response to Trump’s threat published on Sunday evening, according to the Times of Israel, stated that “he is ready to immediately sit down for the negotiating table and discuss the release of all captives in exchange for a clear statement of the end of the war, a full withdrawal (Israeli forces) from the Gaza Strip and the Creating of the Committee of Independent Palestinians.”

“Hamas welcomes any step that will help efforts to stop aggression against our people,” the statement said. The movement confirmed that it has received certain proposals from the US side “aimed at reaching the ceasefire” and is in constant contact with intermediaries to transform these proposals into a comprehensive agreement “which meets our requirements”.
