Germany won on Sunday (7) its first victory in the 2026 World Cup qualifiers by beating Northern Ireland 3-1 at home. The result ended a sequence of five games without winning from Julian Nagelsmann’s team, including the historic defeat for Slovakia in the group’s debut.

The German team went ahead just after 7 minutes with Serge Gnabry, but gave the draw at 34, when Isaac Price hit a beautiful volley after a corner kick. Green in the break, the selection reacted only in the second half.

Coach Nagelsmann promoted the entry of Nadiem Amiri, who changed the dynamics of the team and made 2-1 at 24 minutes. Three minutes later, Florian Wirtz expanded in precise free kick, ensuring the triumph against the crowd.

With the result, Germany adds three points in Group A, the same score as Northern Ireland. The leader is Slovakia with six. The next challenge of the four -time champion will be against Luxembourg on October 10.
