In addition, the singer regularly puts her body in the gym.
The most common first symptom of the disease is fatigue
Multiple sclerosis is an inflammatory neurodegenerative disease of the central nervous system. It arises on the basis of an autoimmune reaction. It affects the brain, spinal cord and limb muscles. In this disease, the immune system begins to damage its own cells.
In the case of multiple sclerosis, the immune system cells enter the brain and spinal cord, where the production of pro -inflammatory substances induce inflammatory deposits. Chronic inflammation damages myelin, the protective fat wrapper of the nerve fiber, which allows for the rapid spread of signals in the form of electrical pulses.
The first symptoms appear most often between 20. To 40 years. According to experts, more than 50 different symptoms occur by default and therefore the diagnosis is quite difficult.
One of the most typical and most common is fatiguethat is not adequate to exerted effort during the day. Another common symptom is digging on a flat surface, also blurred vision or eye pain, balance problems, mental disorders, loss of concentration or memory, urological problems or tingling and limb tingling. The disease also affects children and increasingly persons over 60 years of age.
Despite extensive research, the cause of the disease is still not known, so why the immune system begins to consider its own cells as an “intruder”. The outbreak of the disease is attributed to the interplay of several factors from autoimmune processes, viruses, genetic disposition, age, race and gender, to climate and latitude. Other factors are smoking, low levels of vitamin D, stress and hormonal changes in childbirth or menopause.
Concomitant treatment of the disease consists in damping the patient’s immune system to delay and stop myelin degradation. However, this shows the patient a greater risk of infections because his organism is unable to combat viruses or bacteria.
According to data from the National Center of Health Information (NCZI), 1600 new cases of multiple sclerosis are detected annually in Slovakia and affects two to three times more often women than men. Non -pharmacological treatment – speech therapy, movement or exercise under the supervision of a physiotherapist – is also used in the treatment.
