Flotilha with humanitarian aid Gaza reports 2nd drone attack on boat

The Global International Assistance Initiative Sumud Flotilla (GSF) said on Wednesday (10), at the local time, that one of his boats was attacked by a drone in the port of Sidi Bou Said, Tunisia, the second attack of this type in two days.

The GSF, which seeks to break Israel’s naval blockade and deliver devastated by war using civil boats, said in a statement that all passengers and crew came out unharmed.

The first attack was reported on Tuesday (9), when the GSF stated that one of its in Tunisian waters, reports that the Tunisian authorities considered false.

Speaking at the port of Sidi Bou Said, Saif Abukeshek, a member of the GSF Director Committee, accused Israel of performing the attack. The Israeli army did not immediately respond to a request for comment.

Hundreds of people gathered near Porto, where the flotilla boats were located at the time of the incident, shaking Palestinian flags and protesting Israel and the United States.

The flotilla posted an Instagram video of the alleged attack, showing a luminous object reaching the boat and a fire starting immediately on board.

The group said the British flag Alma suffered damage caused by fire on the upper deck and that an investigation was underway.

Several ambulances ran to Porto, while a Reuters witness reported coastal guard boats near Alma.

Flotilla is supported by delegations from 44 countries, including Swedish activist Greta Thunberg and Portuguese Left Policy Mariana Mortágua.
