United States President Donald Trump denied the Israeli attack on Hamas in Doha, Qatar, was his decision and assured that similar episodes will not occur in the territory of the American ally. In a publication on the Social Truth, Trump stated that this was a decision “made by Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, it was not a decision made by me.”
The Republican stressed that “unilaterally bombarding within Qatar, a sovereign nation near the US, which is working hard and taking risks courageously with us to intermediate peace, does not advance Israel’s goals or the US.”
Trump also said he ordered special envoy Steve Witkoff to alert the Cataris about the offensive. “What he did, however, unfortunately too late to prevent the attack.” The president classified Qatar as a “strong ally and friend of the US”, and said he felt “very bad” about the scene of the attack.
