The airspace of Slovakia is not sufficiently protected and is almost not protected against a similar incident to such an incident in Poland. This was announced by the Vice-President of the National Council (NR) of the Slovak Republic Tibor Gašpar (Smer-SD). This issue will be necessary to address the other NATO Member States. Gašpar claims that this situation in Slovakia is responsible for the ex -minister of defense Jaroslav Naď. According to him, the General Prosecutor’s Office (GP) of the Slovak Republic should also deal with whether Naď did not cause the safety of Slovakia to be at risk. At the same time, Gašpar condemned the disturbance of the Polish airspace by drones.

“As Slovakia, we are not ready to handle similar incidents. Certainly we will have to consult with other Member States this question and start to deal with how to better protect the eastern wing of the Member States of the North Atlantic Alliance”Said Gašpar at Thursday’s press conference. According to Gašpar, the incident in Poland was probably drones of Russian origin, many of them not taking destructive potential. “In principle, they demonstrated where they can land in the NATO country,” added Gašpar.
Despite investing a lot of money in weapons that go to Ukraine, according to him, we underestimate our own safety. “I condemn any violation of international law, and in this case, if this has been the case by the Russian Federation against the Member State of the North Atlantic Pact, against Poland. This simply cannot happen,” declared.
According to Gašpar, Naď, who decided to donate technology to Ukraine during his ministry, led us to this situation. The Vice -President of the National Council of the Slovak Republic refers to the administration of the Supreme Audit Office of the Slovak Republic, according to which Naď was to violate the law in connection with the management of the state’s property. Gašpar expects an early examination of this case. Criminal prosecution was initiated by the Prosecutor of the European Prosecutor’s Office. Gašpar calls on him to inform where the investigation is going. They also investigate the case at the Office of Combating Organized Crime. In the last parliamentary term, the Slovak Republic donated military equipment to Ukraine, including a system of air defense S-300.
Vice-President of Parliament for Smer-SD at the same time condemned the incident in which they shot in the US influential conservative activist Charlie Kirk. According to him, it is the result of the spread of hatred and intolerance. On the night of Tuesday to Wednesday, there was a disruption of the Polish airspace during the Russian drone attacks on Ukraine.
