Baiano wins Dana White’s reality and gets a contract with UFC; know

Brazil won another representative at UFC. Bahian Samuel Sanches, only 22, beat Chasen Blair by knockout in the first round on Tuesday night in Las Vegas during the Dana White’s Contender Series. The performance impressed the president of the organization and yielded to young talent a contract on the largest stage of the world MMA.

Born in Salvador, Sanches grew up in Cidade Baixa, in the Monte Serrat neighborhood. Childhood was marked by challenges: raised by his grandmother, she moved in with her godfather and his wife three years ago, to whom she considers her parents. It was at age 15 that he discovered MMA, starting training in the shed, a space that became decisive in his sports career.

Before reaching the international scenario, Sanches had already stood out on the national circuit, with titles at Demofight and Thunderfight, two of the country’s leading martial arts events in the country. The current cartel has 11 professional struggles, with 10 wins and only one defeat – numbers that reinforce the potential of one of the most promising names of the new Brazilian generation.

Now hired by, Samuel Sanches awaits the definition of his official debut in the organization. After paving the way at Contends Series, he arrives as another bet of national MMA to maintain the Brazilian tradition in one of the most popular modalities on the planet.
