Minister Alexandre de Moraes, of the Supreme Court (STF), denied free access on Wednesday (10) for the visit of the PL president, Valdemar Costa Neto, and other parliamentarians of the acronym to former President Jair Bolsonaro (PL).
The negative comes hours after Bolsonaro’s defense makes the request to the rapporteur minister. Bolsonaro has fulfilled house arrest since August 4.
“House arrest is an intermediate measure between the various precautions provided for in the legislation and pre -trial detention, not, however, the characteristics of restriction to individual freedom, and therefore prevent free access of people foreign to the defendant’s family without any judicial control,” said the minister in the decision.
In the request, the defense asks Valdemar, PL leader in the House, Sostenes Cavalcante (RJ), Senator Rogério Marinho (PL-RN) and Federal Deputies Altineu Côrtes (PL-RJ), Carol de Toni (PL-SC) and Bruno Scheid, vice president of the Rondônia PL, had free access to visit the former president.
The measure to deny free access was taken by the rapporteur minister who accompanies the judgment of the former president in the first class of the Supreme Court. This Wednesday, the magistrates hear the vote of Minister Luiz Fux. It is over eight hours of reading the Fux vote.
The lawyers placed a particular request for the visit of the PL president. According to them, “by the condition of maximum leader of party association, makes direct and permanent contact” with Bolsonaro.
“Its presence lies with unique relevance, not only for the function of political leadership, but also for the need to coordinate partisan activities nationwide, which reinforces the relevance of the authorization now renewed,” the defense said in the request.
