The trial of the defendants of the crucial core of the coup plot continued on Wednesday (10) in the session of more than 12 hours for the minister’s vote. He voted for the five crimes of which he was accused.
Unlike the ministers who voted on Tuesday, the rapporteur, and Fux said that the former president was not proven to have performed executory acts for an attempted coup or overthrow of democratic institutions.
The minister even voted for the nullity of the whole process – for he, the STF would not be the appropriate forum to judge the defendants, and the defenses would have been curtailed by the volume of investigations material. The only votes of Fux against Defendants were for the convictions of the case whistleblower, and the crime of attempted abolition of the Democratic Rule of Law.
The score in Bolsonaro’s case is 2-1 for the conviction. The trial will be resumed on Thursday (11), with the vows of Cármen Lúcia and the president of the class, Cristiano Zanin.
