Poland is introducing limitations of flights to the east of the country until December. They are valid for areas at the Border with Belarus and Ukraine to protect safety.
The Polish Air Traffic Management Agency (PAŽP) announced on Thursday that from Wednesday evening until 9 December there is a restriction of flights in the eastern part of Poland near the border with Belarus and Ukraine. The EP R129 zone was introduced by the Ministry of Infrastructure based on the request of the Armed Forces for State Security Reasons. Informs Warsaw Newsletter TASR.
Restrictions relate to space up to three kilometers and depending on a particular location up to a distance of 26 to 46 kilometers from the border. According to KAZP at night, there is a complete ban on flights with the exception of military machines, while the civilian drones are banned all -day.
During the day, only aircraft flights equipped with radio and transponder are allowed, which are duly announced and maintain the connection with the control authorities. The permit may also be granted after coordination for rescue flights or in case of emergency situations.
At the same time, the agency recalled that the entry of aircraft not meeting the set criteria into the active zone is considered to be a violation of the air law. The restrictions were introduced shortly after several unmanned aircraft disrupted the Polish airspace during the Russian drone attacks on Ukraine at night during the Russian drone attacks.
