Carlos Bolsonaro (PL-RJ), councilman and son of former President Jair Bolsonaro (PL), reacted to the direction of criticism to Lieutenant Colonel Mauro Cid. In an X post on Friday (12), Carlos wrote ironically: “Congratulations on what you did in Brazilian history, Mauro Cid!”
The message refers to the award-winning denunciation of the former order of orders, pointed out as one of the main evidence in the trial. The collaboration agreement allowed CID to obtain a reduced sentence, while reinforced the accusations that resulted in Bolsonaro’s sentence to 27 years and three months in prison.
Mauro Cid was one of Bolsonaro’s closest advisers in the Planalto Palace. After the end of the government, he accompanied the former president in the United States and was involved in episodes that became the target of justice, such as the illegal sale of jewels received as state gifts and fraud on Bolsonaro and family vaccine cards.
Arrested in the midst of these investigations, Cid decided to collaborate with the prosecutor and provided details considered central to prove the former president’s involvement in the attempted coup.

Thanks to the denunciation agreement ,. Bolsonaro, appointed by the ministers of the First Class of the Supreme Court as leader of the criminal organization that sought to break with democracy, received the most severe penalty of the process.
In addition to the two, six other members of the so -called “crucial core” of the plot were also convicted.
