More Madrid asks for “Hard hand against the speculators” of the house
Manuela Bergerot, spokesman for more Madrid at the Madrid Assembly, has asked for “Hard Hand against the speculators” of the house. “The houses are to live, not to do business,” he said during his speech in the debate of the state of the region.
“While some millionaires buy our homes as if they buy bitcoins, here there are a majority of Madrid who needs a house to live. The rent market in Madrid is a gigantic bubble because there are no rules to put limits to profit, the affordable rental does not exist, the social housing is stagnant since you arrived in the government,” he says.
Bergerot accuses the regional executive of not wanting to regulate prices and intervene tourist rental. “Who is looking for a house to live competes in unequal conditions with vulture funds and millionaires buying houses of 10 in 10,” he says.
More Madrid announces that it will propose a regulatory change in the Patrimonial Transmissions Tax to be progressive, with a 2% type to buy a first home and 20% for companies and large holders.
