The firefighters of the work this Friday in the extinction of an industrial fire declared in an automotive ship located in the Industrial Polygon of the Mediterranean (Valencia). Emergencies has stressed that, in case of suffering cardiorespiratory diseases, it is advisable to contact the health center if the symptoms worsen and do not improve with the usual treatment (breathing difficulty, coughing, beeps, chest pain, etc.). “In the case of asthmatic people, the inhalers prescribed,” he said.
Regarding respiratory protection, he pointed out that “surgical masks and the use of scarves are not a safe protection against smoke.” “For adequate respiratory protection against particles generated by the fire, the use of FFP2 type masks is recommended,” he said.
