Working as an onboard assistant is an experience distinct from any other job. At Ryanair, salaries, benefits and conditions associated with the position vary depending on flight hours, onboard sales and bonuses. A direct witness of this operation is Hania Marciniak, an Irish airline employee, who publicly shared how much he wins and how this performance is composed.
According to the Spanish newspaper AS, an Irish company’s flight attendant receives between 750 and 1,000 euros a month as a fixed salary. In this amount are the bonuses per flight hour, which can vary between 15 and 20 euros. According to the same source, income can increase with sales made on board, such as meals, beverages or perfumery products. These commissions can represent more than 100 additional euros at the end of the month.
Bonuses that make a difference
Hania Marciniak, in statements to the same newspaper, points out that workers also receive full attendance prizes, good sales results or punctuality, which can add up to 300 euros a month. “It’s quite good,” he says.
Adds the publication that, adding all these factors, the annual salaries surround between 17,000 and 29,000 euros. In the case of the basis in the UK, income can reach up to 35,000 pounds a year, equivalent to 40,441.45 euros.
Training and initial costs
Refers to the NIT portal that, before starting to fly, candidates have to attend an initial training course lasting six weeks. Although Ryanair points out that training is free, the recruitment partner company, Crewlink, charges a rate of 500 euros to reserve vacancy, 2,199 euros for training and 700 euros for accommodation.
After this phase, a certain term contract is signed with the foreign company, with a maximum duration of three years. Only after at least one year of experience can it sign a direct contract with Ryanair.
According to the same source, the time is established in five -day working cycles followed by two rest, then five days in a row of three off, and so on. The system is repeated throughout the year.
Adds the publication that, in terms of vacation, the regime follows the usual standard, being dependent on the internal organization and operational availability of the company.
Requirements for candidacy
Those interested in working as onboard assistants at Ryanair need to meet specific conditions. Among them, to be between 1.57 and 1.88 meters high, good vision, knowing how to swim at least 20 meters, dominate the English language, be physically fit and present flexibility to work by shifts.
It also refers that personal skills are also evaluated. Candidates are expected to easily deal with people in demanding situations, as well as show sympathy and outgoing profile. Finally, it is necessary to have or have the possibility of obtaining a passport from the European Union.
