The first move on NATO’s geostrategic chessboard came on Friday afternoon. At a press conference, Rutte and General Grengwevic announced the reinforcement of the east side, which will start tonight.
With the code name “Eastern Sentry”, the company aims to “protect and defense of all allies”. Mark Rutte pointed out that “NATO will launch a” Eastern Guard “program to boost the defense of the east side of Europe.” At the same time, he said that “Russia’s recklessness in the air is increasing at frequency”.
“NATO’s main mission is to prevent aggressive actions and defend every member of the alliance from all the threats we face. The protection of our eastern side is of the utmost importance. (…) And we have plans to enhance our presence if and when it is deemed necessary, “Route said.
“Poland and citizens of the whole alliance must feel safe thanks to our immediate reaction earlier this week and the important announcement we made here today,” he said.
Immediate actions from NATO
The Allied Business Administration (ACO), which is responsible for the design and execution of all NATO companies along the east side of the Alliance.
Multiplexious activity, which will begin in the coming days and continue for an indefinite period, is a response to the ongoing airspace violations, including numerous Russian drones that violated Poland’s airspace on September 10.
The alliance has already reacted quickly and decisively to this situation, demonstrating NATO’s ability and determination to defend the alliance, but now it will take further action to enhance its attitude.
“Poland’s airspace violation earlier this week is not an isolated incident and does not only affect Poland,” said General Alexis Grinkevic, a top allied European commander. “While the full evaluation of the incident is in progress, NATO does not wait, but acts.”
The alliance will also boost its air defense.
Eastern Sentry and Air defense
“Eastern Sentry and this new approach will offer even more targeted and flexible deterrence and defense wherever and whenever needed. We want to protect our people and prevent further reckless and dangerous actions, such as those that happened earlier this week. “Greenkevic said.

General Greenkevic
This development comes after NATO meeting, where the allies discussed the situation in the light of Poland’s request for consultations under Article 4 of the Washington Treaty, and condemned Russia’s reckless behavior.
ACO will also work closely with the Allied Transformation Administration. The aim is to apply new technologies to the field. Among other things they will have sensors and weapons against drones.
Which area will cover NATO Eastern Sentry
Alexus Greenkevic has shown that NATO’s new plan will cover the entire eastern wing. Specifically all areas near Russia.
“This is an issue that concerns the whole alliance and we will treat it as such,” the alliance general said. He then said: “Eastern Sentry will cover the entire eastern wing of the Alliance, from the north to the Black Sea and the Mediterranean, where we perceive the threat from the Russians,” Grinkevic said.
“In addition to the most traditional military capabilities, this effort will also include elements designed to face the unique challenges associated with the use of drones,” Rutte assured.
Asked about the cost of using multi -million euro weapons systems to tackle much cheaper drones, especially in the long run, the US general assured that NATO was working for solutions.
Which countries will participate
The Allies have already begun to announce the development of forces and capabilities for Eastern Sentry. Denmark will contribute two F-16s and one anti-missile frigate, France will contribute three Rafale and Germany will contribute four Eurofighter.
Following NATO’s announcement, Britain announced that it is fully committed to reinforcing the defense of Europe’s eastern wing. “The United Kingdom is fully committed to the Eastern NATO guard after the reckless and dangerous violations of Russia’s airspace,” a spokesman for the Defense Ministry said.
“Soon we will provide more details on the contribution of the UK Armed Forces.”
Other countries in the Alliance is expected to send aid.
