During the 12th edition of the Forum Caminhos da Liberdade, held last Thursday (11) at an event home in the south of São Paulo, the former deputy made harsh criticism of the result of the judgment of the . The event brought together several personalities to discuss topics of national relevance, with a special focus on Bolsonaro’s recent conviction. Dallagnol, known for his role as former prosecutor of the Republic and coordinator of Operation Lava-Jato, said the former president is being the target of political persecution. According to him, the goal would be to marginalize the right in Brazil, and the conviction would be the result of a personal will of ministers who want to strengthen the extreme left in power.

In addition to Dallagnol, the Forum was attended by constitutionalist lawyer André Marsiglia, specialist in freedom of expression. Marsiglia highlighted the importance of the minister’s divergent vote in Bolsonaro’s trial. He believes that this divergence can make room for a new discussion about the situation of the former president and other defendants convicted of a coup attempt after the electoral defeat in 2022. Marsiglia argues that the trial should be carried out by the Supreme Court (STF) full plenary, composed of 11 judges, and not only five, of which three would be suspicious.
