The iconic images captured by Portuguese photographer Pedro Lobo during the historic Rolling Stones concert in Canada in 1979, are on display at the 4th edition of the Artes Hill in Lisbon.
In 1979, the Rolling Stones held a historic concert in Canada, which was photographed by the Portuguese Pedro Lobo. Some of these photographs are now on display at the 4th edition of Colina das Artes, a festival that includes music, theater, stand-up comedy and conversations.
On April 22, 1979, Keith Richards convinced the rest of the band to perform two concerts on the same day. The concerts emerged as part of a judicial penalty of the musicianconvicted of drug use and trafficking, and revenues were destined to the National Blind Institute.
Pedro Lobo was fortunate to be present in this concert, thanks to a friend.
“I was lucky because I had a friend who bought tickets to see the Rolling Stones, got angry with her boyfriend and ended up taking me to me and not to him, I had that luck,” recalls the photographer.
Pedro Lobo did not miss the opportunity and with the first camera He captured a concert that would become historical for the Rolling Stones. Of the approximately 100 photographs taken, 25 are now on display.
