The governments Lula (PT) and T (Republicans) have crashed clashes to complete the process of vacating the area in the Moinho favela, in the center of.

Since April, 545 families have left the community, which still gathers just over 300 families.

Marcelo Branco, Secretary of Housing of São Paulo, says that his management has warned the Ministry of Management about the need to demolish the empty houses, with the argument of avoiding further invasions. The area, occupied by the residents of Favela do Moinho, is from the federal government.

“I hope the federal government has followed the news with the same attention and can support the demolitions again, as it demonstrated in the agreement we signed in May,” says Branco.

The secretary refers to the operation led by the Public Prosecution Service and the Military and Civil Police on September 8, which arrested nine people suspected of participation in drug trafficking.

The operation also says that one of the women, who articulated mobilization in the community against police actions to vacate properties, also charges bribes of families benefited by CDHU (Housing and Urban Development Company) with compensation for houses.

“Since the beginning of our operation, in April, we have warned that the demolition of houses is fundamental to prevent new invasions. The question we have always asked was: those who are interested not to demolish the empty houses, as the area is not regular and there will be no use of housing structures later,” says the secretary.

Tarcisio management also says that, despite promoting the change of 545 families, still awaits the effective participation of Caixa Econômica Federal in the operation.

To the panel, the Ministry of Management says that, according to the agreement signed with the Tarcisio government, the federal government does not oppose the decharacterization of vacant housing, provided that the action is conducted carefully, avoiding structural impacts on neighboring houses and interference on community routines.

The Lula Government countered Tarcisio and says that “it has already secured more than $ 160 million to secure $ 180,000 per family to the 900 families of the Moinho”.
