Senate Republicans are pressuring to confirm US President Stephen Miran for an open vacancy on the US Central Bank board.
Administration has requested a court of appeals to remove from the board of directors (Fed, the US Central Bank) until Monday (15), before the central bank’s next vote on interest rates. The request represents an extraordinary effort to shape the council before the Fed Committee meets next Tuesday and Wednesday.
At the same time, Senate Republicans are pushing to confirm, nominated by US President Donald Trump, for a vacancy in the BC board, which may happen on Monday.
Trump tried to fire Cook on August 25, but a federal judge decided this week that the removal was illegal. The Republican accused the director of mortgage fraud because she apparently declared two properties as “main residences” in July 2021.
