Potatoes reign in Polish cuisine. We can eat them for dinner in various forms. Some like ordinary meat, cooked potatoes covered with dill, others prefer puree, and others or noodles. These popular vegetables are also added to soups.
It turns out that you can make potatoes from French cuisine, namely gratin. We prepare the whole in an ovenproof dish. Just cut the vegetables into slices, pour cream, then sprinkle with cheese and bake. Then we get a dish with a creamy, delicate consistency with a baked, crunchy top. This is a classic comfort food in a French edition.
For a potato casserole, it is best to choose flour potatoes that have a lot of starch. As for cheese, we recommend such a harder, yellow, e.g. French Gruyère or Polish amber. An additional ingredient of Gratin is thyme, often used in France, perfectly matching with potatoes.
