A 80-year-old man reacted to an attempted robbery inside his residence and killed the invader on Thursday night (11) in Lages, Santa Catarina.
According to the Military Police, the 35 -year -old man broke into the garage door and entered the property armed with a knife, demanding money. Then he began to assault the victim’s wife.
To defend the companion, the elderly managed to fight with the criminal and was hit in the head, with the blade spiked in the skull.
Even injured, he managed to hit the invader with a chair and then reached another knife, with which he struck the aggression.
The robber died on the spot. The elderly asked for help from the neighbors and was taken for medical attention.
According to police, the suspect already had records for resistance, disobedience and contempt. The case will be investigated.
According to the information determined with the delegate of Lages, the 80 -year -old was hospitalized. The Civil Police are investigating, but by understanding that there has been self -defense, the man will not respond criminally and will not be arrested.
