A Datafolha survey released on Saturday (13) reveals that 50% of Brazilians defend the arrest of the former president, sentenced to 27 years and 3 months by the Federal Supreme Court (STF) for attempted coup and correlated crimes, while 43% are against the measure.
The survey listened to 2,005 voters on Monday (8) and Tuesday (9), amid Bolsonaro trial, in 113 cities of the country. The margin of error of the survey is two points to more or less. In April, the first occasion of the question to participants, 52% were in favor of the arrest of the former president and 42%, against. Already in July, there was a technical draw: 48% to 46%, respectively. The distance was resumed again in the current research.
About the belief in the execution of the sentence, in April, 52% answered that Bolsonaro would escape from being arrested, against 41%, which was stable in the July survey (51% to 40%). Already last week, in the middle of the trial, 50% believed that the former president would go to jail, compared to 40%.
