After saying that by referring to the conviction of Jair Bolsonaro, the American newspaper The New York Times published another article on Saturday morning (13) saying that the country challenges Trump by condemning the former Brazilian president.
In a publication signed by journalist Jack Nicas, NYT states that Brazil “responded” to the pressure of US President Donald Trump, sentenced former Brazilian president Jair Bolsonaro to more than 27 years in prison for leading a failed conspiracy to stay in power after defeat in the 2022 elections.
The assessment is that the sentence is a “challenge” to the White House head. This, after the Republican had “clear his demands”, such as withdrawing the accusations.

“To show that he was serious, he imposed punitive tariffs on Brazil, began a commercial investigation and imposed some of the most severe sanctions at his disposal against the Supreme Court minister who supervised the case. Brazil responded on Thursday condemning Bolsonaro anyway,” he wrote.

The newspaper pointed out that the resistance has marked Brazil’s response to Trump since the US president “began to try to intimidate” the country. “So far, it has not resulted in disaster,” he concluded.
