Susila Karki, a former president of the Supreme Court and his corruption war, was appointed today (12/9) his transitional prime minister after the dramatic fall of the government.
Students, whose massive marches on Monday triggered an unusual sequence of events, were the ones who chose Karki, appointed by President Sunil Bahadour Thapa’s adviser.

The prime minister resigned by taking responsibility for deaths, but the country was looted, with thousands of buildings burning. According to Nepal police, more than 50 people died in riots.
The president’s adviser, Thapa, said that the Carcoli swearing -in and the dismantling of Parliament would take place at the same time this evening. Karki will form a government in the coming days and call elections “probably after six, seven, eight months”. As the speculations about her potential role were reinforced, Carci told an Indian news channel this week that she would accept the position because “these young boys and girls asked me, they begged me.”
The 73 -year -old is renowned for her battle against corruption, has struggled for gender rights and has become a source of inspiration for young lawyers and judges.
