Nepal’s President dissolves Parliament and sets new elections for March

Kathmandu – Nepal President Ramchandra Paudel has dissolved the parliament after the fatal unrest in the country and scheduled new elections for March 5. This was announced by his office on Friday evening (local time). The step was preceded by violent protests for days. A few hours earlier, the former constitutional judge Sushila Karki had been appointed the country’s first female Interim Minister of Interim. She followed KP Sharma Oli, who had resigned because of the protests.
