The number of Wednesday disturbances of the Polish airspace by Russian drones could be even higher than originally reported. Informed on Friday by Polish Defense Minister Wladyslaw Kosiniak-Kamysz, TASR writes according to the DPA report.
A deeper analysis revealed that there could be 21 disturbances of the EU and NATO airspace at night on Wednesdaysaid Kosiniak-Kamysz. The Polish government previously reported 19 such incidents. However, the Minister explained that the number of airspace disturbances is not the same as the number of unmanned aircraft.
Poland confirmed shooting of three or four Russian drones at night on Wednesday. Warsaw described the incident as an act of aggression and activated the article of four North Atlantic Treaty. According to the European Union (EU), some of the unmanned aircraft were identified as Iranian production drones. These are also used in the war in Ukraine.
