The following year, the Catholic Theological Union (Catholic Theological Union) in Chicago awarded the title Master of Divinity and won the title of Magister theology at the Catholic postgraduate school in Chicago in 1982. In the same year, the performances sent him to Rome in the study of canon law at the Papal University of Sts. Tomáš Aquinas (Angelicum). In Rome he also received a priestly ordination – 19 June 1982.
The canon law license obtained in 1984 and a year laterduring the preparation of the doctorate, he was sent to the Augustinian mission in Chulucanas, in the Piura region in Peru, where he worked in 1985-1986. During the eleventh years he held the position of Prior Community (1988 – 1992), formator (1988-1998) and Master of Religious (1992-1998). In the Archdiocese of Trujillo, he was also a court vicar (1989-1998) and a professor of Canon’s law, patristiles and morality in the priestly seminar “San Carlos Y San Marcelo”.
At the same time, he was entrusted to the pastoral care of the Virgin Mary of the Mother of the Church, which was later promoted to the parish of St. Rity (1988-1999) on the outskirts of the city in a poor neighborhood. From 1992 to 1999 he was also an administrator of the parish of the Virgin Mary of Monserrat.
In 1999, he was elected provincial provinces “Mothers of the Good Council” in Chicago AO two and a half years later The General Assembly of the Order elected the Augustinians General, and in 2007 it was again elected for the second term.
He returned to his province in Chicago in October 2013 and became the director of the formation in the monastery of St. Augustine, the first counselor and the provincial vicar. He held these functions until November 3, 2014, when Pope Francis appointed him the apostolic administrator of the Peruvian Diocese of Chiclayo and the titular bishop in Sufarewhile the bishop’s holy received on December 12 of the same year.
