Commentator José Eduardo Cardozo and the businessman and former federal deputy Alexis Fonteyne discussed, this Friday (12), in The Great Debate (Monday to Friday, at 11 pm), if the conviction forces former President Jair Bolsonaro (PL) to define a political successor.

No amnesty and with a sentence of 27 years and three months in prison, at the age of 107.

Cardozo evaluates that the right will be sprayed.

“The right has many spectra and already has difficulty uniting with Jair Bolsonaro. With the absence of Jair Bolsonaro, there is a spraying of candidates and the possibility of sectors, including conservatives, support another candidate, if the candidate on the other side is from the far left,” he said.

“It will not be easy, therefore, to unify the right field with a single candidate. Especially if he is a far right candidate,” he continued.

Fonteyne understands that Bolsonaro will be required to define a successor.

“The path was already being planned since Bolsonaro’s ineligibility was given for other reasons, it is not for this judgment. I think for respect of respect for this judgment, the right was not very good in this process and Jair Bolsonaro himself would not declare his successor before he was judged,” he said.

“The good news is that the right has beautiful candidates, several possible candidates. There is Governor Romeu Zema, Tarcisio, who is more pro-Bolsonaro,” he continued.
