United States President Donald Trump said on Saturday that he sent a letter to NATO in which he said he was ready to apply “great sanctions” to Russia, and urged the group to apply rates of 50% to 100% above China.

“As you know, NATO’s commitment to the end of the war [na Ucrânia] has been much less than 100%. The purchase of Russian oil by some countries has been shocking! This greatly weakens our position of negotiation and bargaining power over Russia, “the Republican told his social network to Truth Social.

According to Trump, if all countries interrupt Russian oil imports, there will be pressure on Kremlin to end the war against Ukraine. The main deliberation in this regard, in the view of the US President, is to press the organization of the North Atlantic Treaty to target China up to 100%.

“China has a strong control, and even dominion, over Russia, and these powerful tariffs will break it. This is not the war of Trump (it would never have started if I were president!), It’s the Biden and Zelensky war. I’m here just to help her and save thousands of Russian and Ukrainian lives (7,118 lost lives last week),” he said.

Trump has reiterated the desire to impose additional tariffs on countries that buy oil from Russia, as he did with India by decreeing another 25% rate, totaling 50%. The Brazilian government has closely observed this issue, if there are, in fact, new rates to importers of the Russian commodity – like Brazil.

“If NATO does what I say, the war will end quickly and all these lives will be saved! If not, you will only be wasting my time, and time, energy and money from the United States.”
