The tense mood that surrounded the goalless draw between and, this Friday (12) at the Couto Pereira Stadium, in Curitiba, ended with a widespread fight after the final whistle of the game valid for the 25th round of Serie B.
It is not known for sure what caused the start of the fight, which ended in a huge run on the lawn involving players and coaching staff of both teams. The confusion lasted about ten minutes.
When the situation was controlled, with the teams going to the locker room, referee Alex Gomes Stéfano (RJ) went to VAR, reviewed the fight and finally expelled six players, three on each side. On the coritiba side were expelled: Clayson, Filipe Machado and Yury Castilho, while on the side of Goiás they received the Marcão Red Card, Anselmo Ramon and Benítez.
The draw, however, kept both teams in the first positions of the table. Coritiba leads isolated with 47 points, two in front of Goiás (45), followed by 43, who once tied without goals with Volta Redonda.
