All this can do in the garden of the shrub – in addition, you can plant them individually or put them in a hedge. What more do you want? Maybe they still spoil. If you already have a full garden of currant and gooseberry, try the following. You won’t make a mistake with them.

Trnka

If you are fans of the original varieties, bet on the wild sloe. “It is our variety, plus perennial and very durable and ripe fruits,” says Jana Bucharová, expert on the garden themes of the Recipe magazine in the podcast. For example, classic sloe plum jam is prepared similarly to plums, with only more sugar, because the sloes are less sweet.

Sea buckthorn

In recent years, the prickly shrub has only gained popularity and no wonder. It is resistant, it grows well and also produces extremely healthy fruits full of vitamin C. “If you want to fill the gap in the fence with it, carefully choose the variety. So that it does not grow too much and does not require much cut,” the expert recommends. And do not forget that sea buckthorn is a dioecious plant. So if you want to wait for fruits, it is necessary to plant male and female shrub.

Most types of Muchovník come from the US and Canada and can grow like a shrub and a small tree. As with sea buckthorn, it is necessary to choose the right type and variety. Depending on how much a gap is, even to what height the shrub should grow. “But if you choose correctly, you will not have to cut it at all, just over time to change the cut,” explains Jana Bucharová. It has very good fruits and does not grow too dense.

Chloshina

The deciduous shrub has beautiful red, sometimes yellow fruits that ripen from late September to November and are suitable for cooking or syrup. It originates from Japan and China and is fully frost -resistant. Even in this case, it is necessary to carefully select a variety. “The ideal is narrow -leaved or around,” says the expert. Most shrubs grow up to about two to three meters of height, but well tolerated.
