Capoeirista Pedro Wendel da Silva, popularly known as “Acai”, is in the city of Igarassu, Pernambuco, where he participates, on Sunday afternoon (14), the 4th stage of Capoeira Warriors Challenge (CWC) Brazil.
CWC is one of the largest international competitions of the sport and, this time, is being held in Brazil. Among the highlights is Acreano Pedro Wendel, “Acai”, who represents the state with claw and humility.
A native of Epitaciolândia, acai won the top podium in the continental stage of CWC America, held in Juliaca, Peru, on June 18. The victory secured its place in the national stage in Brazil, where it now seeks the two -time championship and the chance to play the world title in 2026.

From a needy community, Açaí is a capoeira teacher in the municipal public network of Epitacioland and creator of the “Opportunities” project, which promotes social inclusion and citizens’ formation through capoeira. His work is recognized as an example of dedication and community transformation.
With the support of the Axé Capoeira Group-Acre and other partners, the athlete embarked for Pernambuco with the dream of winning another belt for the state-which already has two international titles: one won by Alisson Felipe Ambrósio da Silva, the “Professor Rato”, World Champion in BRNO, in the Czech Republic, and another by Anderson Galvão da Silva, the winner of the Latin American stage. CWC: More than competition, a meeting of warriors
The Capoeira Warriors Challenge brings together athletes from different states, countries and capoeira groups, promoting not only technical disputes, but also cultural exchange and the appreciation of Afro-Brazilian roots. The event is part of the World Cup of Axé Capoeira Group, organized by Mestre Barrão, one of the most respected figures of Capoeira Internacional.
The program includes wheels, cultural presentations, competitions for category and moments of fraternization between capoeiristas from different nationalities.
The competition will be broadcast live on the organization’s official channel, from 17h (Acre time).
