Nine people in two different vessels were assisted by the National Maritime Authority due to interactions with orcas off Cascais and Praia da Fonte da Telha.
Nine people who were following this Saturday on two vessels, off Cascais and Praia da Fonte da Telha, had to be assisted because of “an interaction with orcas,” the national maritime authority announced.
Large from Cascais Bay, four people were assisted aboard a maritime-tourist vessel, while at the source of the tile, next to Costa da Caparica, the aid involved five people aboard a sailboat that sailed five nautical miles (close to nine kilometers) from the coast.
According to a statement from the National Maritime Authority (AMN), the alert was received at 12:30, through the Lisbon Search and Maritime Search Coordination Center, having been mobilized, “immediately”, crew members of the Cascais life station and the Port of Lisbon.
In both cases, “it was found that the crew were well physically, without the need for medical care,” said AMN.
In Cascais, the vessel was removed from the site with the aid of another nearby.
