PUC-RS cancels event after writer celebrates

PUC-RS (Pontifical Catholic University of Rio Grande do Sul) canceled the event with writer Eduardo Bueno after he celebrated the death of American activist Charlie Kirk. The presentation was scheduled for Sunday (14.Set.2025), at 18h, at the Brother Norberto Rauch Acts Salon, PUC-RS, in Porto Alegre (RS).

The university informed Friday (12.Set.2025) that terminated the spectacle lease agreement “Brazil: Capital sin with Eduardo Bueno”. The event would be promoted by third parties and was not part of the institutional program. According to Bueno, 600 tickets had already been sold.

Another Bueno event was also canceled this Saturday (13.Set.2025), at the bookstore of Travessa, in Porto Alegre. According to him, the decision was made in common agreement with the bookstore.
