US Secretary of State Marco Rubio said on Saturday (13) that the raid of Russian drones in Polish airspace this week is unacceptable, but it is unclear whether Russia had deliberately sent drones to Polish territory.

A Take (Organization of the North Atlantic Treaty) announced plans to reinforce the defense of the eastern flank of Europe on Friday (12), after Poland slaughtered, the first shots, which has been registered, fired by a member of the Western Alliance during the Russian War in Ukraine.

“We think it is an unacceptable, unhappy and dangerous unfolding,” Rubio told reporters before leaving for a trip to Israel and the United Kingdom.

“There is no doubt about this: drones were intentionally launched. The question is whether the drones were specifically directed to Poland.”

Rubio said that if the drones were directed to Poland, “if the evidence takes us there, then, obviously, this will be a highly scale action.”

“There are several other possibilities as well, but I think we would like to have all the facts and consult our allies before we make specific decisions,” he added.

The operation will begin in the coming days and will involve resources from Denmark, France, the United Kingdom, Germany and other countries, said Mark Rutte, Secretary General of NATO.

“The eastern sentry will add flexibility and strength to our posture and make it clear that, as one, we are always ready to defend,” added Rutte.

Equipment dedicated to the operation is two F-16 and an anti-aircraft frigate of Denmark, three France’s Rafale fighters and four Eurofighters from Germany, according to an alliance press release.
