The STJD (Superior Court of Sports Justice) accepted a request for suspensive effect submitted by Flamengo and released striker Bruno Henrique to act for the club while waiting for consideration of the penalty of 12 suspension matches, determined by the court at the beginning of the month.
The player was tried for suspected of sharing early information about receiving a yellow card in Flamengo’s match against Santos, for the 2023 Brazilian Championship, to benefit a sports betting scheme involving friends and family.
Sentenced by the STJD’s first disciplinary committee, the player and the club appealed to the court.
“The measure, awaited by Flamengo in the face of the divergent votes presented in the 1st Disciplinary Commission-who have welcomed the preliminary prescription-guarantees the full condition of the attacker’s game until the case trial by the Court’s full. Thus, Bruno Henrique is released to act normally by the red-black team,” the club said in a statement.
