During the minister’s vote in the trial of, a violent episode dominated the debate: the, pro-rump influencer and one of the best known faces of conservatism. Shortly thereafter, the internet was flooded with false information and conspiracy theories. Without any concrete data about the author or his motivations, versions that and the Democratic Party, as well as anti -Semitic narratives, pointed to Jews and Israeli intelligence as responsible for the crime.
Police identified the suspect as, 22, resident of Utah. He had no party affiliation or voting history, although his parents were registered-the father, Matt Robinson, has been vice-threshold for 27 years and collaborated with police by recognizing his son in the images released.
The episode accentuated cracks within the American right itself. To understand this movement, it is necessary to remember who are the “”, a digital group of white and neo -Nazi nationalists with strong that orbits around the influencer. Kirk was attacked for being “too moderate” and supports Israel. Death was then reinterpreted as a watershed: Posts that viralized in X said “the bullet that killed Charlie Kirk killed the moderate right,” or “he was the last moderate – now the far right is.”
This frame. In over 100,000 public groups of WhatsApp monitored by, the mentions of “Charlie Kirk” and “Groypers” grew abruptly, and on September 12, they surpassed their own references, revealing how external events are quickly incorporated into Brazilian political dispute. Expressions such as “civil war” have grown in recent days, with messages like “killing leftist should be Olympic sport” being shared.
Brazilian figures began to echo the reading that Kirk’s death would have symbolized the end of conciliation within the right. In the X, he stated that they “killed the moderate right,” in messages accompanied by images calling for “being the far right they are so afraid.” In one of these posts, the deputy appears alongside the “Clown Pepe”-variation of the character Pepe The Frog, originally a harmless meme, but was adopted by white supremacists, becoming one of the “” Groyper universe.
This wave found fertile ground in the Underworld of the Internet, which holds obvious similarities with Groyper subculture. The so -called “review bubble”: anonymous profiles in the X that mix aesthetics of violent humor and extremism. The term “review” acts as an internal code and fulfills the same role as “Groyper” – from the comment for action, harassing enemies and preaching violence. This Brazilian subculture also lends symbols and languages such as Clown Pepe used by Nikolas Ferreira.
It was in this context that users of the “review” celebrated the posture of figures like Nikolas Ferreira, saying that “finally entered the review”. One of the most active anonymous published a photo of Chilean dictator Augusto Pinochet with the caption “Where’s the far right of this fucking?” Followers to take over the openly extremists.
In times of strong political emotion, imported narratives come to their own life, shaping the national debate. This mechanism increases risks: hatred discourses are normalized and boundaries between humor and incitement to violence are diluted. It is important to understand the process of contamination of the Brazilian digital ecosystem at risk of transforming others’ crises into fuel to deepen our own social fractures.
