The teams made a very balanced first half and frank in São Januário. Vasco started better, exercising pressure marking and bothering Ceará’s defense with good opportunities.

In one of them, Philippe Coutinho was missed that he himself suffered and opened the scoring. Right in the game in which he completed 100 commitments with the cross-Maltese shirt,

Fernando Diniz’s team was doing well, but a flaw in leaving the ball changed the direction of the duel. Matheus Carvalho made a mistake and, after the finalization of Paulo Baya, Galeano took advantage of rebound and tied.

The goal caused visitors to grow up and they just didn’t go to the break with the advantage thanks to Leo Jardim. Vasco’s archer made at least two major defenses to maintain equality on the scoreboard.

In the second half, Vasco was superior and had the best opportunities to expand. Andrés Gómez and Vegetti had good chances, but stopped in defense of Ceará. Vozão, in turn, only arrived with Paulo Baya.

At 27 minutes, when the game was cool, Cruz-Maltino gained survival with the expulsion of Rodriguinho. The midfielder of Ceará hit Barros with the sole of the boot and received direct red card.

Diniz and company knew how to enjoy the more man and got the goal of victory with the brilliance of foreign reinforcements. After a crash rebound, Andrés Gomez advanced on the right and crossed to Carlos Cuesta to have the party in São Januário.

The joy in the historical hill, however, was short lived. In erasing the lights, Pedro Henrique shook the net after indecision of the defense of Vasco and rebound of Leo Jardim. A shower of cold water for the Vascai, and a point conquered in Marra by Vozão.
