Public Security Secretary Will Varela warned this week about a blow that has caused financial losses and psychological trauma to several people across the country.

In a video published on social networks, he pointed out that criminals are using personal data from the victims to apply the scam extremely sophisticated.
According to Varela, scammers contact the victims stating that they would have provided information about criminal activities to rival authorities or factions. Then threaten the safety of the person and their family, creating a climate of fear and panic.
“This cruel blow is spreading, and the target can be anyone. Scammers make calls with their personal data, saying that you have delivered trafficking and factional information to someone outside. They claim that the green light was given to perform you and your family. In a panic, many people end up transferring money,” explained the secretary.
Authorities stress that the population should not give in to these threats and should immediately seek security agencies in cases of suspicion.
