Ceará denied on Monday (15) a request for custody of the former minister () for gender violence against the mayor of Crateús (CE), Janaína Farias ().
In the same decision, the court ordered a precautionary measure that prohibits it to make any offensive or injury to the mayor, under penalty of a fine of $ 10,000 for each demonstration. The sentence is signed by Judge Victor Nunes Barroso, of the 115th Electoral Court of Fortaleza.
The defense of Ciro Gomes alleged incompetence of the Electoral Justice to judge the case, but the argument was not accepted by the magistrate. The former minister’s advisory was sought on Monday to comment on the decision, but did not comment.
Janaína Farias (PT) is an ally of the Minister of Education, (PT), of whom he was a special advisor in the government of Ceará. She was elected Camilo’s second alternate at the federal and even took over the post in 2024.
