Pope Leo 14 criticized the company’s salary inequality model, which offer much higher bonuses to executives than employees. He cited Tesla’s proposal to offer a $ 1 trillion a bonus.

According to the Pontiff, “CEOs that in the 1960s would be earning 4 to 6 times more than workers, are now receiving 600 times more”. The speech took place during an interview with European media released on Sunday (14.Set.2025).

“Yesterday the news came out that Elon Musk will be the 1st Trionade in the world. What does this mean and what it is? If this is the only thing that still has value, then we are in trouble”said the pontiff.

During the conversation with journalist Elise Ann Allen, Leo 14 also cited the role of the UN (United Nations) on the international political scene, the period she worked as a missionary in Peru and the hopes of peace in the armed conflict between Ukraine and Russia.

Tesla’s advice proposed a new remuneration plan that can reach $ 1 trillion for Elon Musk, setting up the largest package ever offered to an executive in corporate history. The scheme estimates that Musk receives up to 12% of Tesla’s shares, valued at more than $ 1 trillion, if the company reaches a market value of $ 8.6 trillion over the next 10 years – 8 times more than current assessment.
