If Trump is really running the world, where will it take it?

US President has already postponed the entry into force of the veto to the operation of the application in the country

United States President Donald Trump said on Sunday that the future of Tiktok in the country depends on China, when the deadline for short videos to stop operating on US territory.

“Maybe we let her die, or maybe … I don’t know, it depends. It depends on China,” Trump told the press in New Jersey before returning to Washington.

Next Wednesday expires the legal deadline for the Chinese company bytedance to sell Tiktok or the application stop operating in the United States.

Trump, who last month opened an official White House account on Tiktok, has postponed the veto into the operation of the application in the United States three times.

The future of the platform is one of the central topics in the conversations that began this Sunday in Madrid between United States Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent and Chinese vice-master-master, He Lifeng, in which the parties seek to advance to a tariff agreement.

During the first term, Trump was openly critical of Tiktok, considering that US users’ data could be accessible to the Chinese government, but now defends the use of the platform as a tool to connect with the younger electorate.

“I did very well at Tiktok. I got the vote of young people and got numbers that no one in the Republican party never did,” he said on Sunday.
