Finance Minister Fernando Haddad said on Tuesday (16) that the government intends to meet the fiscal goals of 2025 and 2026, considering that the government depends on the “understanding” of the National Congress to achieve the objectives.
In an event promoted by the financial group J. Safra, Haddad stated that there is no lack of support from the legislature to the government to limit expenses, exclusion of “pump guidelines” and recomposition of the tax base.
Primary result goals were set in zero deficit to 2025 and 0.25% of the gross domestic product (GDP) to 2026 – in both cases there is a tolerance of 0.25 percentage point of GDP to more or less.
