For one piece of Caimito (about 180 g) you will have to pay up to PLN 40, which is associated with its import and seasonality. However, if you like culinary experiments, it’s worth it for its sweet taste.
How to eat Caimito? Cut them in half, remove inedible seeds with a spoon, and then eat a soft, juicy center (the skin is bitter and should not be eaten). The pulp is creamy (resembles a pudding or a thick coconut milk) and is suitable for raw consumption (preferably after slightly cooling the fruit). Caimito can be used in the kitchen in more ways. The fruit is sweet in taste (with notes of apple and vanilla), so it works best as a dessert.
