Visit was authorized on Monday, but may only take place on September 29, between 9am and 18h, under follow-up and inspection of the vehicles of all present
The governor of São Paulo, (Republicans), canceled the trip he would make to Brasilia on Monday (15), where he intended to participate in articulations in favor of amnesty to the condemned by the acts of January 8. Despite the retreat, Tarcisio sent a request to visit the former president, who is in prison in Brasilia.
In the request sent to the minister, the governor pointed out that he had already received similar authorization in August and classified Bolsonaro as “a friendly friend.” The visit was authorized on Monday, but may only take place on September 29, between 9am and 18h, under accompaniment and inspection of the vehicles of all present.
According to allies, Tarcisio gave up the trip after evaluation that he had already made all possible movements in defense of the amnesty during a recent agenda in Brasilia, when he spent two days at meetings with leaders. The evaluation at the Bandeirantes Palace is that the bill is sent with the mayor, Hugo Motta, and other deputies, while in the Senate the resistance is greater, especially the president of the House, David Alcolumbre, who has already declared not to guide the text.
Tarcisio’s retreat was also attributed to the wear and tear of his image after the September 7 demonstrations, when he adopted a harder tone in public speech. Since then, the governor has avoided the spotlight and maintained only internal commitments in São Paulo. This would be Tarcisio’s fifth trip to Brasilia in just over a month, initially planned as an attempt to approach the Senate.
