They blame the lack of investments during the government of Jair Bolsonaro (2019-22) for the unprecedented financial crisis.

According to the company, there were R $ 447 million of investments from 2019 to 2022, compared to R $ 792 million in 2023 and 2024.

“The context currently faced by the state is a reflection of past decisions, especially from 2019 to 2022, when there was severe investment restriction,” says Geverson Nery de Albuquerque, special advisor to the company’s presidency, in a letter delivered to the House of Representatives Commission. “This limitation has compromised the competitiveness of the company,” he adds.

To try to reverse the complicated financial situation, the state -owned company has also pledged to rationalize their expenses and adopt measures such as reducing the working day to six hours, with a proportional reduction of salary and encouraging voluntary dismissal.
