Tyler Robinson, 22, the main suspect of the conservative activist’s murder, will be taken to court on Tuesday (16) to an initial hearing at the Utah County Court. The judicial procedure was performed virtually.

Robinson faces three accusations: qualified murder, obstruction of justice and firearm shooting with severe result. The investigation obtained messages, security videos and forensic evidence, including Robinson’s DNA in a towel found in the crime weapon.

The suspect, who is arrested in Utah and is not entitled to bail, may be sentenced to life imprisonment or even the death penalty, depending on the result of the trial. The repercussion of the case was great, and the president has already spoken publicly in favor of the death penalty for the accused.
