The Polish President calls for NATO’s response after disturbing the airspace by Russian drones. The topic is energetically resonating in particular in relation to Ukraine.

Polish President Karol Nawrocki called on NATO to strengthen the deterrent after the disruption of the Polish airspace by Russian drones. TASR reports this on the basis of a Tuesday report by DPA.

The Polish leader in an interview for the German daily Bild said it is necessary to do everything to prepare for the war, as it will only guarantee peace, “writes DPA. He expects that he expects “similar attacks on the NATO territory” and the Alliance will be even better prepared for it.

Russian drones shot down

The operational command of the Polish armed forces stated that during the attack of Russia on Ukraine, the Polish airspace was disturbed at least 19 times on Wednesday night. Three drones were shot down by Polish and allied aviation, which was described by Prime Minister Donald Tusk as unprecedented use of weapons by Polish aviation in modern history.

According to Nawrock, the attack was “managed directly from Moscow” and demonstrates the possibilities of Russian President Vladimir Putin. At the same time, the Polish head of state expressed satisfaction that there were no civilian or military loss of life in the blow.

Call to stop oil imports

He also supported the challenge of the White House chief Donald Trump by NATO Member States to complete all imports of Russian oil, as continuing trading will only encourage Moscow and can lead to further aggression. Trump addressed a call, for example, to Hungary and Slovakia, but also applied to France, which imports Russian oil from India.

Only sanctions and Trump can put pressure on Putin to end the war and preserve the territorial integrity of Ukraine, said the Polish leader, adding that “Europe should support it in these efforts”.
