The US president has been trying to reach an agreement for months to buy Tiktok from his Chinese parent company byTedance.
A law ratified by Congress in 2024 forced Tiktok to stop operating in the US on January 19, 2025, unless byTedance sells the company.
But Trump has repeatedly extended this deadline, admitting that he has “a little weakness in Tiktok”. The new deadline for the sale of Tiktok is September 17th.
